Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between JJ Rodriguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Aldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aldo has chosen Parado Na Esquina as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that JJ Rodriguez has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily JJ Rodriguez seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rodriguez seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Aldo for as long as he can get away with.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of JJ Rodriguez.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Aldo enables Rodriguez to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Aldo manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Aldo is working an open guard so Rodriguez takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Aldo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rodriguez looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Rodriguez closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Aldo's guard.

Rodriguez is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Rodriguez has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

JJ Rodriguez is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
