Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benson throws a series of punches but Johnson moves out of range.

Johnson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Benson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Johnson is in Benson's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Benson wants to hit a switch here but Johnson passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Benson there!

Benson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Johnson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Johnson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

and Benson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Benson feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Johnson's calf.
Johnson on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Johnson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Benson circles away.

Johnson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Benson pinned against the cage. Benson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Johnny Benson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tom Johnson.

Benson throws the left hand but Johnson avoids the punch easily.
Benson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Benson throws a series of strikes that have Johnson backpedaling.
Benson is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Benson is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Benson knocks out Johnson with a massive right hand! The ref tackles Benson before he can follow up with any more strikes and that's it everyone. Benson picks up the big W with a huge KO!
