PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jim Beam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Awesome Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Beam comes to the cage accompanied by Hollywood Undead - Everywhere I Go. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Awesome Bob!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beam showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bob.

Beam lands a left and a right that send Bob crashing to the mat, dazed. Beam thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Awesome Bob has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Beam takes the fight into the clinch.
Bob is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Beam gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Beam takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Bob is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Bob is fighting off a takedown attempt but Beam is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Bob to the mat. Bob regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Beam gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Bob tries to close the distance and clinch up but Beam swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bob throws a head kick but Beam moves out of range.
Nice takedown defense from Beam. No joy for Bob on that attempt.
Bob takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Bob looks gassed!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Beam lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Beam lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Beam breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Beam clinches with his opponent.

Beam decides to pull guard.

Beam manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Jim Beam is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Beam closes the distance and clinches.

Beam gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Beam stands up out of the half guard.

Beam takes the fight into the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Beam escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A good leg kick by Beam.

Bob is rocked!
Bob has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Beam.
Beam throws a leg kick which misses Bob's front leg but catches the back leg as Bob tries to avoid it.

Beam fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bob, pushing him back against the cage.

Beam has picked Bob up - he's going for a ride! Beam dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Beam stands up and beckons Bob to join him on the feet.

Bob is still on wobbly legs! Can Beam finish him?
Beam throws a nice inside leg kick.
Bob seems to have recovered his senses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Beam moves into range and clinches up with Bob.

Beam has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Bob uses from the top position.

Beam has his feet on Bob's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Beam fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bob, pushing him back against the cage.

Beam ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Beam no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Beam pushes Bob off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Bob tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Bob tries for a takedown but Beam circles away easily

and Beam holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Jim Beam has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Awesome Bob.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A right hook to the body lands for Beam.

Beam escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Beam lands an overhand right.

Beam drops Bob with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Bob looks back up at him and smiles so Beam waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Beam lands with a right and another and another! Bob is in big trouble! Beam lands again and this time it's lights out for Bob! A quality knockout there for Beam.
