Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony Preston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Head!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Preston shoots in looking for a takedown. Head tries to sprawl out of it but Preston keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Head manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Preston shoots and misses
and Head counters with a series of strikes. Preston will be more careful next time no doubt.
Head connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Nice sprawl there from Head as Preston shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tony Preston. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Head shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Preston eats them both and turns towards Head to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Tony Preston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Preston with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Head to score with a decent uppercut.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Preston. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Good leg kick by Head there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

This has been an exciting period of action!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Head wants to stand but Preston has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Head must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Preston is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
