Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sanji Yokohama!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Sosuke Kotani and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gono walks forward, straight into a front kick from Yokohama.
Yokohama takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Yokohama will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Yokohama scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Gono defending against the ground and pound.
Gono is not content to let Yokohama control the position.
Gono is pushing Yokohama's head away, looking to escape. Yokohama manages to hold on to the position though.
The ground and pound from Yokohama seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Yokohama in side control, throwing shots but Gono defends.
Yokohama wants to take a breather but Gono manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Yokohama.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Gono working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Yokohama.
Yokohama wants to control from the top but Gono keeps moving.
Yokohama postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Yokohama throws a strike but Gono rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Gono wants to stand but Yokohama has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Gono gets to his feet - Yokohama follows without any prompting.
Yokohama takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Yokohama shoots in for a double leg but Gono sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gono swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Gono's jab looks to have found its range, popping Yokohama under the eye.
No luck for Yokohama with that takedown attempt.
Yokohama looks gassed!
Yokohama looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gono is fending him off so far but Yokohama persists. Nope, Gono circles away and we're back to standing.
Katsuya Gono has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sanji Yokohama.
Yokohama throws a leg kick but Gono sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gono dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

It looks like Sanji Yokohama has been cut.
Gono cracks Yokohama with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Gono fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Yokohama is still on wobbly legs! Can Gono finish him?
Yokohama's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Gono connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Yokohama scrambles back to his feet.
Gono dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Gono throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Yokohama colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Gono as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Yokohama is left battered and dazed whilst Gono and his camp cheer!
