The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Northwood clinches up against the cage.
Lappin looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Lappin is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Northwood gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Northwood is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Lappin can't fight it off and eventually Northwood manages to take the fight to the floor. Lappin looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Northwood is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Lappin has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Northwood pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Northwood wants to finish this one by submission but Lappin is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Northwood.
