Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Karelin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rulon Oboev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rulon Oboev is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karelin closes the distance and clinches up with Oboev, looking for a takedown. Karelin pushes Oboev against the cage but Oboev circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Karelin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Oboev is fending him off so far but Karelin persists. Nope, Oboev circles away and we're back to standing.
A clash of legs there as Oboev blocks the low kick.
Karelin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Oboev's waist but Oboev gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Karelin off to one side.

Oboev drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Oboev jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Karelin is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Karelin is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Oboev is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Karelin's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
