The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cole jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Cole lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Cole looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Cole keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cole throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Brooks on the side of the head.
Brooks takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Brooks tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cole paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Cole feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Brookss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Brooks looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Cole's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Brooks connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Cole scrambles back to his feet.

Brooks tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Cole is able to avoid easily.

Cole throws a jab when Brooks was well out of range.
Brooks walks straight into a right hand from Cole - that's dropped him! Cole jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Brooks from any more punishment! Brooks complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
