The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smooth drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Smooth got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jr has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Smooth has managed to get both his arms back between Jr's legs - danger averted.
Smooth wants to control from the top but Jr keeps moving.

Jr is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Smooth's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Smooth's back!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jr is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Smooth defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Jr is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Smooth knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Smooth for a finish.
