PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kingtiger Pardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Klaus Wulf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kingtiger Pardy!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Klaus Wulf!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pardy swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Wulf shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pardy's guard.
Wulf wants to control from the top but Pardy keeps moving.
Pardy utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Wulf postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Pardy looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Pardy keeping moving, preventing Wulf from controlling successfully.
Pardy controlling the position.
Pardy can't keep his opponent in guard - Wulf advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Wulf has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Wulf passes the guard and advances to mount!
Wulf should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Pardy tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Wulf avoids the attempt from Pardy to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Wulf lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Pardy is squirming around, avoiding Wulf's attempts to control the action.
Pardy working to try and regain half guard.
Wulf takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Pardy wants to hold on but Wulf pushes him away.
Wulf connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Wulf is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Pardy has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Pardy is in all sorts of trouble here.
Wulf wants to control the pace but Pardy is squirming around nicely.

Wulf lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Pardy hang on?

Wulf looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Wulf thows a huge punch but Pardy dodges it nicely.
Wulf wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pardy keeps working.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Wulf thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Pardy's head.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Klaus Wulf dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Wulf wants to clinch up but Pardy keeps it at a distance.
Pardy swinging wilding here.
Pardy lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Wulf backs up against the cage.
Wulf scores with a three punch combo!
Wulf avoids a punch combination nicely.
A big left from Wulf misses.
Pardy throws a leg kick which misses Wulf's front leg but catches the back leg as Wulf tries to avoid it.
Pardy looks to land a combination but Wulf avoids it well.
Pardy fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Wulf looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Wulf bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Pardy's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Pardy tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Wulf just content to control the position.
Pardy is looking to regain half guard here but Wulf keeps moving and retains side control.
Pardy is working hard here to advance position.
Pardy taking punishment in the form of punches.
Wulf wants to control but Pardy is keeping him busy.
A lull in the action here.

Wulf tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Wulf has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Wulf scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Pardy to see if he's OK.

Pardy takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Pardy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wulf on the ground.

Wulf has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Pardy!

Wulf has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Pardy's face.
Pardy throwing hammer fists to the chest of Wulf. What's that going to do exactly?
BOOM! Wulf connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Wulf connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wulf raining down shots from the mount!
Pardy is squirming around, avoiding Wulf's attempts to control the action.
Pardy is in a horrible position here. Wulf smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Wulf is working for a guillotine from mount but Pardy frees his head quite easily.
