The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Matsu is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Bishop's half guard.
Matsu uses his free foot to push down on Bishop's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Bishop.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Matsu lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bishop can do anything to dispel that myth.

That has opened up Sonny Bishop's cut even more.
Matsu has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bishop is still in real trouble! Can Matsu finish him?
Matsu loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Bishop scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Matsu land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Matsu stands and salutes the crowd.
