Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Roman Leonitis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vitaly Smirnoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Roman Leonitis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vitaly Smirnoff!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paul Aken and Radbod Blank.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smirnoff paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
The fighters circle momentarily. Smirnoff darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Smirnoff connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Leonitis momentarily.
Smirnoff throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Leonitis.
No joy there for Smirnoff, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Smirnoff throws a head kick but Leonitis moves out of range.
Smirnoff stalks Leonitis and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Leonitis's face. Leonitis staggers backwards, shaken.
Leonitis really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Smirnoff throws a combination. Leonitis tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Smirnoff enables Leonitis to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Smirnoff manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Smirnoff is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Smirnoff is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Smirnoff tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Leonitis wants to control from the top but Smirnoff keeps moving.
Leonitis controls from within his opponent's guard.
Smirnoff controls Leonitis momentarily but Leonitis frees himself.
Leonitis postures up and lands a big shot to Smirnoff's brow.

Smirnoff wants to get back to his feet but Leonitis is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Leonitis forces his way into half guard.
Smirnoff wants to sweep but Leonitis has passed to side control!
Leonitis wants to control but Smirnoff is keeping him busy.
Smirnoff sneaks back into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Leonitis is thwarting Smirnoff's attempts to control the position.
Smirnoff makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Smirnoff.
Smirnoff can't keep his opponent in guard - Leonitis advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Smirnoff looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Leonitis has picked Smirnoff up and slammed him! Smirnoff can't keep hold of the triangle and Leonitis manages to pass to side control!

Smirnoff takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Leonitis lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Smirnoff down.

Leonitis is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Smirnoff is trying to escape and Leonitis transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Smirnoff is forced to tap! Nice work there by Leonitis! Very nice indeed!
