PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Argo Surtr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chip Freedom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Freedom's choice of entrance music: Star Spangled Banner. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Chip Freedom enters the cage!

The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Russell Pearce and David Schapiro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freedom waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Surtr.
Surtr throws a leg kick which misses Freedom's front leg but catches the back leg as Freedom tries to avoid it.
A swing and a miss from Freedom.
A slapping body kick lands there for Surtr.
Freedom displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Surtr throws out the jab.
Freedom shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Freedom throws a series of punches but Surtr avoids them all with ease.
Freedom pivots, looking for a leg kick but Surtr is out of range and Freedom settles back down.
Surtr goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Freedom misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Surtr cracks Freedom with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Surtr scores with a head kick.

It looks like Chip Freedom has been cut.
Surtr is looking to chop away at Freedom's legs.
Freedom throws a right and a left that Surtr avoids nicely.
Surtr blocks a head kick by Freedom.
Freedom looks gassed!
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Freedom checks a leg kick.
Freedom takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Surtr keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Freedom.

Surtr pushes Freedom away with a front kick.
Freedom gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Surtr.

Freedom is rocked!
Chip Freedom seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Freedom has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Surtr.
Freedom takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Surtr scores with a leg kick.
Freedom walks forward, straight into a front kick from Surtr.
Surtr moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Surtr lands with a kick to the ribs.
Freedom avoids the head kick by Surtr.
Surtr turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Surtr darts in and clinches Freedom up against the cage.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Surtr lands an uppercut.
Surtr blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Surtr misses with a knee to the head.
Surtr unloads a knee to the mid-section.

Surtr displaying some good clinch control by pressing Freedom up against the cage.
A nice right hand lands inside from Surtr.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Surtr.
Knees in the clinch landing for Surtr.
Surtr is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Surtr using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Freedom has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Surtr's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Surtr with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
That kick from Surtr tenderised Freedom's leg. Freedom is trying to keep his angry face on.
Freedom avoids the head kick by Surtr.
Surtr lands a nice leg kick that just misses Freedom's sensitive parts.
Surtr lands a nice looking kick to the body. Freedom takes a step back to recover.
Freedom steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Surtr. That one must have hurt.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Freedom blocks the body kick.

Freedom gets tackled into the cage by Surtr. Surtr maintains the clinch.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Surtr obliges.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Surtr.

Surtr is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Surtr unloads a knee to the mid-section.

Surtr lands an uppercut.
Surtr has Freedom pressed against the cage.

Freedom is trying to stall.
Freedom takes a shot to the head.
Freedom is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Freedom's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Surtr breaks from the clinch.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Surtr buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Freedom walks into a jab.
Freedom is still on wobbly legs! Can Surtr finish him?
Freedom is aggressively charging in as Surtr backs up avoiding any damage. Surtr tosses out a jab and Freedom runs right into it face first! Freedom is out cold! Surtr dropped down on all fours and is barking in Freedom's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Argo Surtr!
After winning the bout, Argo Surtr thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
