PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Big Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Iron Tager (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bob comes to the cage accompanied by AC/DC - TNT. The crowd seem to be enjoying Tager's choice of entrance music: MOTOR HEAD. The key to victory for Big Bob has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tager feints and as Bob raises his hands in defense, Tager changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Bob has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Tager throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Tager trying to control but Bob is working from the bottom.
Tager is pushing down on Bob's leg trying to pass to half guard. Bob is fighting to maintain full guard but Tager has managed to sneak the leg through.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bob is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Tager's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Tager's back!
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Bob's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Tager trying to control the action but Bob just sinks the hooks in.
You can see the frustration on Tager's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Bob gets his hands free as Tager looks to control.
Tager is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Bob.

Bob has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Tager's body.
Tager looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

What can Tager do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Bob looks to score with a jab to the body but Tager is just out of range.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Bob lands a left hand.
Bob misses with a punch to the body.
Bob lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Bob throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Tagers head.

Bob is fighting off a takedown attempt but Tager is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Bob to the mat. Bob regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Bob is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Bob has control of Tager's left arm, preventing Tager from doing any damage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Big Bob just wasn't active enough.

Tager darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

A close round but Iron Tager will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Bob throws a jab when Tager was well out of range.

Tager uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bob.

Tager shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Bob wants to control but Tager is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Tager prevents Bob from improving his position.
Tager wants to take a breather but Bob is having none of it.
Tager wants to free his trapped foot but Bob is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Tager is looking for a kimura but Bob is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Tager to get the leverage.

Tager must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Bob wants to stand and escape but Tager is having none of it.

Big Bob has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Bob tries to keep at a distance but Tager has taken the fight into the clinch.
Bob lands an uppercut.
Tager jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bob walks away with a smile on his face. Tager gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Big Bob has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Iron Tager.
A decent looking cross lands there for Bob.

Tager closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Bob seems keen to control Tager's posture.
Tager looking to pass the guard.
Tager throws a big elbow that misses.
Tager postures up in Bob's guard and throws a big left but Bob blocks it.

We're going to have a standup here because Big Bob wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Tager looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bob is fending him off so far but Tager persists. Nope, Bob circles away and we're back to standing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bob throws a hook to the side of Tager's head but Tager sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Bob gets tackled into the cage by Tager. Tager maintains the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Big Bob will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Tager shoots for a takedown but Bob saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Tager takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Tager needs to keep his hands up - Bob had a free shot at his head there.

Tager is rocked!
Bob feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Tager crashing to the mat! This one is all over!
