Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bob Jardine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jan Modaal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jardine comes to the cage accompanied by Calm Like A Bomb- Rage Against the Machine. Modaal has chosen damage plan - new found power as his entrance music. Jan Modaal has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Modaal bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Modaal fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Jardine lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Jardine throws a series of punches but Modaal moves out of range.
Jardine slaps away a takedown attempt from Modaal, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Jardine stuffs the takedown attempt from Modaal. Modaal gets slowly back to his feet.
Bob Jardine has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jan Modaal.

Jardine shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Jardine is nestled in close to Modaal, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Modaal got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jardine has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Modaal has managed to get both his arms back between Jardine's legs - danger averted.

Jardine had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Modaal defends it easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Modaal fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Modaal postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Jardine in real trouble here! The ref calls for Jardine to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
