Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John De Vito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Landers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kevin Landers!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Winston Howard and Eliza Hachem.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

De Vito has managed to clinch.
Landers wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but De Vito has him pressed against the cage.

De Vito pulls Landers into guard.
De Vito preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Landers throws a big right hand that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
De Vito is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Landers won't allow De Vito to get back to his feet.
Landers working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of De Vito's head.
Landers postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

De Vito has his feet on Landers's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

De Vito moves into the clinch successfully.
Landers dodges an elbow strike from De Vito.
Landers takes a knee to the side of the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
De Vito looking to throw knees to the head but Landers is blocking nicely.

De Vito drops down looking for an ankle pick but Landers pulls his leg out and moves away.
De Vito fails with a takedown attempt.

De Vito changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Landers tries to avoid it but De Vito manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Landers to the ground. Landers escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Landers lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of De Vito backwards.
Landers doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Landers pushes De Vito back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
De Vito goes for a takedown in the clinch but Landers prevents it.
Landers misses with a punch on the inside.

De Vito blocking some punches.
Landers swings wildly with an uppercut but De Vito uses good head movement to avoid it.
De Vito is trying to drag Landers to the mat but Landers just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Landers working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Landers misses with a hook from the clinch.
Landers lands with a right to the head.
Landers blocks an elbow strike.
Landers is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Landers lands a left hand that snaps the head of De Vito backwards.
De Vito keeps control of Landers as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Landers throws a head punch that misses.
Landers is trying to break the clinch but De Vito is controlling him.
Landers makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

De Vito blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Landers can do anything to dispel that myth.
Landers is looking to sweep but instead, De Vito has passed into half guard.
Landers tries to get to full guard but De Vito has control of the leg.

De Vito content to control rather than advance.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Landers trying to control from the bottom.
De Vito lands strikes from half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Landers pushes De Vito off but De Vito dives into side control.
Landers wants to get back to his feet but De Vito is dominant here and he's now got Landers's back!
Landers is in bad spot here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that John De Vito will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

De Vito takes one to the side of the head.
De Vito throws a quick inside leg kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from De Vito.
Landers wants to clinch up but De Vito keeps it at a distance.
Landers gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and De Vito decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Landers's guard.
De Vito thows a big elbow that misses.
De Vito throwing strikes from guard but Landers blocks nicely.

De Vito gets to his feet - Landers follows without any prompting.
John De Vito seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Landers stuffs the takedown attempt from De Vito. De Vito gets slowly back to his feet.

Landers throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. De Vito was covering up waiting for the punch and Landers finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Landers thows a big elbow that misses.
Landers throws and elbow that misses. De Vito uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Landers's guard. Nice move by De Vito!
Landers wants to control but De Vito passes easily into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Landers tries to push off, looking to stand up, but De Vito manages to move to mount!
Landers is breathing heavily.
De Vito controlling his opponent.
Landers sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Landers trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
BOOM! De Vito connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Landers wants to hold on but De Vito pushes him away.
Landers really doesn't want to stay on the ground with De Vito. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
De Vito lands a big elbow.
Landers tries to hold on but De Vito pushes him away.
De Vito fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
De Vito controlling the pace for now.
Landers is trying desperately to improve position.
De Vito content just to control the position here.

De Vito landing strikes from the mount.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
De Vito tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
John De Vito overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Landers is trying to escape the mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
De Vito looking to finish Landers with some ground and pound. This is bad for Landers!

De Vito pushes Landers off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Landers blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

It looks like Kevin Landers has been cut.
Landers is trying to push De Vito away but De Vito has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

De Vito lands a big knee from the Thai clinch and Landers goes down hard! The ref takes a good look at him but he's still defending himself. De Vito in side control.

Landers is rocked!
Landers tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Landers is still in real trouble! Can De Vito finish him?
Landers takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

De Vito is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Landers with him. Landers is trying to defend but De Vito has an arm under the chin now! Landers grimaces and is forced to tap out!
