The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shango moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Nice sprawl there from Shango as Parrotface shoots in.
Parrotface tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Shango manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Parrotface on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Shango swats away the attempt to clinch by Parrotface.
Shango throws a shot from downtown. Parrotface moves away and avoids it.
Shango scores with a hook to the body. Parrotface takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Shango throws a right and a left that Parrotface avoids nicely.
Parrotface takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Parrotface takes a jab right on the kisser.
Shango fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Shango swings for the body but Parrotface moves out of range.
Parrotface misses with a low kick.
Sloppy strikes from Shango. Those never looked like landing.
Shango stuns Parrotface with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Shango moves out of range of the leg kick from Parrotface.
Parrotface looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Shango is fending him off so far but Parrotface persists. Nope, Shango circles away and we're back to standing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shango throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Parrotface shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Shango but Shango pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sgt Parrotface. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Shango tries to bum rush Parrotface with a series of wild strikes but Parrotface uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Parrotface scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Shango pushes Parrotface off and gets back to his feet.
Shango takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Parrotface scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Shango tries to escape but Parrotface is in control.
Parrotface in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Shango wants to get back to his feet but Parrotface drags him back down.

Parrotface looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Shango seems a little lost for a moment, as Parrotface dominates the positioning.

Shango is trying to buck Parrotface off.
Shango is not content to let Parrotface control the position.
Shango is looking to get back to his feet here but Parrotface is keeping cool and he's managed to take Shango's back.
Shango has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.

Parrotface has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Shango! Can he survive? No! He's out! Parrotface gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
