The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
O Wheet changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. aboott tries to avoid it but O Wheet manages to keep hold of a leg and drag aboott to the ground. aboott escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
O Wheet shoots in for a takedown but aboott shows good takedown defense.

aboott changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. O Wheet looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
aboott creates some space and throws a big elbow, but O Wheet sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
aboott landing strikes.
O Wheet is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked aboott off and has taken his back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
aboott rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
O Wheet wants to lay and pray for a moment but aboott keeps working.
aboott is looking to improve his position.
O Wheet uses his free foot to push down on aboott's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for aboott.

O Wheet is landing with some decent strikes but aboott is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
O Wheet prevents aboott from getting the reversal.

O Wheet can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as aboott is looking to escape.

O Wheet is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! aboott is forced to tap! Great finish!
