Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eli Barden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Clooten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clooten has chosen Hot Ride by The Prodigy as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barden thows a body shot but no joy.
Barden tries to land a leg kick but Clooten saw it coming and moves away.

Clooten shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Barden eats them both and turns towards Clooten to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Clooten looks to throw the jab but Barden is out of range.
Clooten cracks Barden with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Clooten missing with a left hand there. Barden was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Clooten tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Barden paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Barden misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

and Barden counters with a stiff right hand.

and Clooten counters with a one-two to the body.

Barden loads up on a big right hand but Clooten slips the punch.
Barden dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Clooten takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Barden avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Barden is pulling down on Clooten's head. It's preventing any offense from Clooten, at least for the moment.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Eli Barden.

Clooten changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Barden tries to avoid it but Clooten manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Barden to the ground. Barden escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Barden has had enough of the clinch but Clooten keeps him there for the moment.

Clooten has his foot on Barden's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Barden works his way back into a safe position though.
Barden will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Barden, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A less than humble Eli Barden misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
