PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tom Foxall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephen Neal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Neal's choice of entrance music: Lamb of God - Grace. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tom Foxall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Stephen Neal!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Nard Betker and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Neal has managed to clinch.
Neal gets through Foxall's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.


It looks like Tom Foxall has been cut.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
A nice left hand lands by Neal.
Neal doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Neal scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Neal lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Foxall trying to control but Neal postures up.
Neal wants to pass to mount but Foxall is defending the position.
Foxall is trying to maintain the position but Neal is very close to passing his half guard.
Neal takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Foxall tries to get to full guard but Neal has control of the leg.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Neal prevents Foxall from standing back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Neal with the ground and pound but Foxall uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Neal throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Foxall works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Neal working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Foxall avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Neal controlling from the top position.
Neal postures up and lands a big shot to Foxall's brow.
Neal working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Neal scoring with some ground and pound.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Neal accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neal slips nicely into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Neal slips a nice elbow through Foxall's hands, connecting with Foxall's forehead.
Neal thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Neal controlling the pace.
Let's hope that Neal has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Neal lands with a punch from half guard.
Foxall wants to improve his position but Neal is controlling well.
Neal looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Neal with the ground and pound but Foxall uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Neal is pushing down on Foxall's leg trying to pass to half guard. Foxall is fighting to maintain full guard but Neal has managed to sneak the leg through.
Neal controlling the pace.
Nice strikes from Neal there.
Neal working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Neal takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Foxall manages to get to full guard.

Neal is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Neal throwing strikes but missing.
Neal with a nice head shot there.
Neal lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Neal looking to pass the guard.
Neal makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Neal stays in close to Foxall's body and controls the position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Neal throws a strike but Foxall rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Neal keeping moving, preventing Foxall from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stephen Neal dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Tom Foxall's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Neal shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Neal was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Neal lands with some strikes.
Neal postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Foxall looks a forlorn figure.
Neal controlling the position easily from mount.

Neal jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Foxall manages to avoid the submission attempt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Neal lands some shots froms side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Neal scores with punches from side control.
Neal lands a nice forearm strike.


Tom Foxall's cut is getting worse.
Neal connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Foxall some visible discomfort.


Tom Foxall's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Tom Foxall's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Stephen Neal!
Stephen Neal seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
