Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Doet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Murilo Ribeiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ribeiro has chosen Dream Theater - Forsaken as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Doet!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Murilo Ribeiro!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Edson Gomes and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ribeiro misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
A slow jab from Ribeiro misses its intended target.
Ribeiro tries to clinch up
and Doet counters with a stiff right hand.
Doet stuffs the takedown attempt from Ribeiro. Ribeiro gets slowly back to his feet.
Ribeiro doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Doet throws a body punch but Ribeiro moves out of range.
Ribeiro closes the distance but Doet moves to the side
and Doet counters with a left to the body.
Ribeiro fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
John Doet has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Murilo Ribeiro.
Ribeiro tries to clinch but Doet moves away
and Doet counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Ribeiro thinking.
Ribeiro looks gassed!
Doet connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Doet is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

A left lands for Doet.
Ribeiro misses with a series of wild punches.
Doet misses with a wild body shot.

Ribeiro gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Doet to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Doet is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Doet tries to free his leg and advance position but Ribeiro is retaining full guard.
Doet stops Ribeiro from standing up.
Doet's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Doet stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ribeiro swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Doet wants to control from the top but Ribeiro keeps moving.
Doet pushes down on Ribeiro's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Doet is pressing down on Ribeiro's thigh, looking to free his foot. Ribeiro is holding on for now.

Doet is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Doet is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ribeiro is just riding it out for now. Doet eventually gives up the hold.

Doet seems to be looking for submissions.

Ribeiro on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Doet works his way into full mount!
Doet fails to advance to Ribeiro's back.
Ribeiro gets back to half guard.

Doet is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ribeiro is just riding it out for now. Doet eventually gives up the hold.
Doet blocks the strikes from Ribeiro.

Doet has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Doet is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Ribeiro working to try and regain half guard.
Doet can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ribeiro is looking to escape.

Doet has hold of Ribeiro's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Ribeiro manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ribeiro has given up his back. Will we see Doet going for some submissions?

Doet tightening his grip on Ribeiro, looking for the choke.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Doet's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Ribeiro fails with the takedown
and Doet counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Doet cracks Ribeiro with a right hand to the side of the head.
Doet lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Ribeiro wants to clinch
letting Doet counter with a right hand.
Ribeiro takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Ribeiro tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Ribeiro takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Ribeiro is still on wobbly legs! Can Doet finish him?
Ribeiro looks to land a combination but Doet avoids it well.
Ribeiro fails with a takedown attempt.
Ribeiro is breathing heavily.
Doet dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Ribeiro shoots in for a takedown but Doet shows good takedown defense.
Ribeiro seems to have recovered his senses.
John Doet has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Murilo Ribeiro.
Doet lands with a shot to the body.

Doet closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Doet lands in his opponent's guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Doet is keen to just control but Ribeiro is a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Doet is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Ribeiro can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

John Doet overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Ribeiro pushes Doet off looking to stand but Doet dives back in and keeps control.

Ribeiro is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Doet pulls his head out easily.
Doet seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Doet wants to take a breather but Ribeiro is having none of it.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Ribeiro makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Ribeiro.
Doet lands a nice looking body shot.
Ribeiro doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Ribeiro gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Doet thows a body shot but no joy.
Ribeiro tries to clinch there but Doet circles away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ribeiro looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Ribeiro misses with a takedown attempt - Doet sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Ribeiro takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

enabling Doet to counter with a crisp jab.
Ribeiro takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Doet throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Doet works Ribeiro's body with a nice hook.
Donk. Doet catches Ribeiro right on the button with a cross.
Ribeiro closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Ribeiro takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Doet lands with a good body shot.
Ribeiro on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Murilo Ribeiro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Doet catches Ribeiro with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Ribeiro forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!
