Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Emerson Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dana Whyte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Whyte has chosen Imagine - John Lennon as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Emerson Santos could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Dana Whyte's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos has a takedown stuffed.
Santos shoots in looking for a takedown. Whyte tries to sprawl out of it but Santos keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Whyte manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Santos misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Santos dives in and grabs Whyte's left leg, looking for a takedown. Whyte pushes down on Santos's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Emerson Santos. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Whyte swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
letting Santos counter with a right hand.
Nice takedown defense from Whyte. No joy for Santos on that attempt.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Whyte is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Whyte is looking to work some ground and pound but Santos has wrist control.
Santos is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Whyte keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Santos's head.
Whyte stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Santos swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Whyte throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Santos works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Whyte is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Santos bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Whyte's guard.
Santos throws a strike but Whyte rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Whyte has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Whyte is in close to Santos's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Emerson Santos's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Santos shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Whyte pinned against the cage. Whyte gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Whyte counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Santos off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Whyte follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Santos was out before he hit the floor.
