Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sean Corvia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Mirone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Corvia comes to the cage accompanied by Al Kapone - You ain't stoppin me. Corvia has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Sean Corvia has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Sean Corvia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Dan Mirone!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Glass and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Corvia throws a hook but Mirone avoids it easily.

Corvia closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mirone to the mat! Mirone manages to get full guard.
Corvia looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Mirone wants to stand but Corvia is controlling the position.
Mirone looking for a sweep. Not yet Mirone, not yet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Corvia controlling from the top position.
Corvia has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Sean Corvia just wasn't active enough.
Mirone has a takedown stuffed.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mirone.
Corvia looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Corvia shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mirone as he avoids it easily.
Mirone throws a lazy head kick

and Corvia counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mirone won't be happy with that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Corvia is breathing heavily.
Corvia controlling the position.
Mirone pushes Corvia away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Corvia gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Corvia controls the position from side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!

We're going to have a standup here because Sean Corvia wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Mirone gets caught flat footed, as Corvia shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Corvia wants to pass the guard but Mirone is keeping the position.
Corvia showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Mirone looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Corvia is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Corvia has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Mirone keeping full guard, as Corvia tries to pass.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Corvia swats away the attempt to clinch by Mirone.
Mirone tries a head kick but it misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mirone pushes Corvia away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Corvia gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Mirone is trying to control Corvia's posture but Corvia avoids it.
Mirone is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Mirone tries to bench press Corvia off him but Corvia keeps the position.

Corvia in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Mirone gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Mirone is breathing heavily.
Corvia moves into full mount! Mirone won't be happy about that!
Corvia tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Mirone is trying to escape the mount.
Mirone tries to hold on but Corvia pushes him away.
Corvia prevents Mirone from getting the reversal.
Corvia controlling from the full mount.
Mirone is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Mirone working to try and regain half guard.
Corvia controlling his opponent.
Corvia's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Corvia postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Mirone looks a forlorn figure.

Mirone is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Mirone wants to hold on but Corvia pushes him away.
Corvia sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sean Corvia dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Mirone tries for a takedown but Corvia circles away easily

and Corvia decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mirone's guard.
Corvia slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Mirone lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Corvia!
Corvia is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Sean Corvia overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Mirone trying to control but Corvia is having none of it.
Mirone wants to take his opponent's back but Corvia doesn't allow it.
Corvia is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Mirone swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Corvia is now in Mirone's guard. A big mistake from Mirone there, giving up the dominant position!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Corvia slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Mirone thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mirone is trying to control the position but Corvia postures up.
Mirone wants to sweep here but Corvia controlling him for the moment.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Dan Mirone wasn't active enough on the ground.
Mirone throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Corvia's waist but Corvia gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mirone off to one side.

Corvia closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Mirone quickly recovers to half guard.
Corvia is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Corvia tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mirone tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Corvia controlling the position easily from mount.

And that's the end of the fight!
Sean Corvia showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Corvia has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
