The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardy Jr swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Silva cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Silva throws out a loose jab but Hardy Jr uses good head movement to avoid it.

Hardy Jr throws a nice looking combination but Silva bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Silva is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

No joy there for Hardy Jr, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Silva thuds his right hand into Hardy Jr's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

and Hardy Jr counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Hardy Jr takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Oooooh!!! Hardy Jr has knocked Silva down with a huge combo! Hardy Jr steps away and waves a wobbly Silva back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hardy Jr is pawing at Silva, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Silva's nose. Silva is badly hurt! Hardy Jr pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Silva tries desperately to hold on but Hardy Jr is relentless in his assault! As Silva receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Hardy Jr away and this one is in the books!

A very excited looking Dan Hardy Jr rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
