The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matthews scores with a nice strike.
Matthews throws a nice inside leg kick.
Punga throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Punga throws a head kick but Matthews moves out of range.
Punga misses with a combination
and Matthews counters with a thumping low kick.
Punga tries to land a front kick but Matthews steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
An inside leg kick lands from Matthews.
Matthews throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Punga takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

It looks like Kota Punga has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Matthews circles away from the clinch attempt.
Matthews lands with a hook. Punga tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Punga throws a head kick that misses.
Matthews dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Punga. That did some damage!
Punga looks gassed!
Matthews cracks Punga with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Punga is rocked!
Matthews sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Punga's defenses. It connects perfectly with Punga's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
