Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Steve Reeves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Darnelczyk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Reeves might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Motley Crye - Kickstart My Heart. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of New York, Steve Reeves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of New York, Daniel Darnelczyk!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Reed Andrews and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darnelczyk tries for a takedown but Reeves sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Reeves takes the fight into the clinch.

Reeves pulls guard successfully.

Reeves had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Darnelczyk is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Reeves Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Darnelczyk's back instead.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Reeves doesn't have the hooks in and Darnelczyk manages to turn into his guard.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Reeves lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Darnelczyk has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Darnelczyk and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Reeves shoots in and bounces Darnelczyk off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Reeves is pushing down on Darnelczyk's leg trying to pass to half guard. Darnelczyk is fighting to maintain full guard but Reeves has managed to sneak the leg through.
Reeves takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Reeves is nestled in close to Darnelczyk, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Reeves is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Darnelczyk doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Reeves.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Reeves lands a nice leg kick that just misses Darnelczyk's sensitive parts.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

and Reeves counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Reeves passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Darnelczyk!

Darnelczyk swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Reeves counters with a good low kick that Darnelczyk was not able to check.

The fight stays on the outside here - Reeves looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Reeves using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Darnelczyk has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Reeves working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Darnelczyk doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Darnelczyk manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Steve Reeves overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Reeves looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Darnelczyk with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
