The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick lands from Ruff.
Ruff shoots in looking for a takedown. Rowe tries to sprawl out of it but Ruff keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rowe manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ruff fails with a takedown attempt.
Rowe takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Ruff lands a high kick!
It looks like Shane Rowe has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rowe gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ruff to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Rowe looks gassed!

Ruff is looking to stand up but Rowe won't let him.

Ruff won't allow Rowe to sweep him here.
Ruff is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Ruff wants to control from the top but Rowe keeps moving.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Thom Ruff.

Whack! Ruff lands a heavy head kick that drops Rowe. The ref tackles Ruff to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Rowe was done.
