Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Spartan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quinton Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spartan cracks Jones with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Jones throws a nice looking combination but Spartan bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Jones takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Jones catches Spartan with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Spartan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jones was well out of range. Poor timing from Spartan.
Jones throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Spartan.
Spartan is looking to chop away at Jones's legs.
Jones will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jones throws a series of punches but Spartan avoids them all with ease.
Jones takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Spartan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jones throws an overhand right that lands on Spartan's shoulder, as Spartan tries to avoid the shot.
Jones moves away from the strike by Spartan.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Spartan fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Jones looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Spartan takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
A right-left combo lands from Jones.

Spartan scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Jones throws a shot from downtown. Spartan moves away and avoids it.
Jones blocks a head kick by Spartan.
Jones lands a body shot.
Jones has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Spartan.
Good leg kick by Spartan there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Jones looks gassed!
Spartan lands a nice looking body kick.
Spartan takes a swing at Jones's ribcage but misses.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jones throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jones gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Spartan.
Jones misses with a series of wild punches.
Jones moves away from the strike by Spartan.
Spartan dips to his left and cracks Jones with an uppercut!

Spartan buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Jones blocks a head kick by Spartan.
Jones takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
An inside leg kick from Spartan misses.
Jones misses with a looping right.
Jones ducks under a wild hook from Spartan.
Spartan throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Spartan showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jones.
Spartan lands a nice leg kick that just misses Jones's sensitive parts.
Spartan takes a swing at Jones's ribcage but misses.

Spartan shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Jones tries to kick Spartan off but Spartan keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Spartan postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Jones to stand up.
No joy there for Jones, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A telegraphed right hand from Spartan misses the target.
A jab from Jones finds it's way through Spartan's defenses.
Spartan takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Jones shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Spartan eats them both and turns towards Jones to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
A looping hook to the body misses from Spartan. Jones does a little dance to reset his feet.
Spartan thows a body kick. Jones tries to catch it but that hurt him.

A head kick misses from Spartan.
Spartan displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jones throws out the jab.
Jones falls off balance throwing a combination
and Spartan finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

It looks like Quinton Jones has been cut.
Spartan just misses with a punch to the body.

Jones is still on wobbly legs! Can Spartan finish him?

Spartan slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Jones on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Spartan cracks Jones with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Jones falls to his knees and Spartan doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
