Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Conner Magavin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Conner Magavin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 11 - 1, fighting out of New York, George Penn!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, John Roberts and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Magavin swinging wildly here.
Magavin looks to score with a jab to the body but Penn is just out of range.
Magavin lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Magavin throws a wild body kick that Penn sees coming a mile off.
Penn thows a body shot but no joy.
Magavin tries to land a front kick but Penn steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Magavin pulls out of a head kick attempt.

and Magavin counters with a shoot takedown. Penn fights it but they end up in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Magavin slips a jab and a cross from Penn.
No joy there for Penn, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Penn closes the distance and clinches up with Magavin, looking for a takedown. Penn pushes Magavin against the cage but Magavin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Penn throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Magavin sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Magavin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Penn moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Magavin lands a nice hook to Penn's body. Penn takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Penn throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Magavin stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Magavin cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Magavin lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Magavin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Penn was well out of range. Poor timing from Magavin.
Horrible takedown by Penn or perhaps it was just good defense by Magavin which made him look bad.

Magavin lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Magavin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Penn throws a left and a right that both miss
and Magavin counters with a head kick. That will keep Penn thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!


Penn is rocked!
Penn takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Magavin lands with a shot to the body.
Penn is still on wobbly legs! Can Magavin finish him?
Penn shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Magavin fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Penn to the ground. Magavin is now in Penn's guard.

Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Magavin and the ref steps in to end the fight! Magavin can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

Our winner, Conner Magavin, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
