PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Parker Gloves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeffrey The Dude (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gloves's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Drop the Bombshell - Powerman 5000. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Dude shoots in for a takedown but Gloves shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
The Dude tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gloves swivels and escapes.
Gloves scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Gloves jabs The Dude to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Gloves with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Gloves looks to land a right hand but The Dude moved out of range.
Gloves misses the shot to the body.
The Dude misses with an uppercut. Gloves saw that one coming.
The Dude keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Gloves.

The Dude shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The Dude passes to side control.
Gloves sneaks back into half guard.

The Dude trying to mount his opponent but Gloves defends it.
Gloves tries to get to full guard but The Dude has control of the leg.
Gloves wants to get back to his feet.

The Dude is trying to work for a kimura but Gloves is defending well.
The Dude throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Gloves to regain full guard.

Gloves is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The Dude trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The Dude trying to control the position from guard on top but Gloves is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The Dude is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
The Dude is looking to work some ground and pound but Gloves has wrist control.
Gloves tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The Dude wants to pass the guard but Gloves is keeping the position.
The Dude trying to control but Gloves is working from the bottom.
Gloves trying to keep a closed guard but The Dude is proving a slippery customer.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jeffrey The Dude.

Parker Gloves has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeffrey The Dude.

A looping hook to the body misses from Gloves. The Dude does a little dance to reset his feet.

The Dude ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gloves moves away.
Gloves is looking to wear down The Dude with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
The Dude shoots for a double leg takedown but Gloves sprawls well. He's pushed The Dude's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
The Dude takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
The Dude looks gassed!
Gloves misses with a few strikes there.
Gloves slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gloves jabs The Dude to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Gloves bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
The Dude on the wrong end of a nice jab.
The Dude misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Gloves with a hook.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The Dude is rocked!
Jeffrey The Dude seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The Dude doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
The Dude is still on wobbly legs! Can Gloves finish him?
Gloves misses with a double jab.
Gloves scores with a punch to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Parker Gloves dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Gloves comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
The Dude tries for a takedown but Gloves circles away easily
and The Dude takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
The Dude throws a wild hook but Gloves just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! The Dude gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Gloves raises his hands in celebration and walks away!
