PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pvt. Dino Paparelli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pawel Zaremba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dino Paparelli and Pawel Zaremba. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of London, Pvt. Dino Paparelli!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Pawel Zaremba!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Colin Fotheringham and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zaremba shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Zaremba will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Zaremba tries to clinch but Paparelli is having none of it.

Paparelli gets the takedown into side control.
Paparelli misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Paparelli trying to control the position but Zaremba is working away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Paparelli is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Zaremba is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Paparelli working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Paparelli tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Paparelli creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Zaremba sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Paparelli lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Zaremba looks gassed!
Paparelli wants to lay and pray for a moment but Zaremba keeps working.
Paparelli connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Zaremba some visible discomfort.
Paparelli in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Paparelli tries for a kimura but Zaremba is defending well.
Zaremba parries the strikes from Paparelli easily there. Paparelli is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Zaremba to escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Paparelli grinds an elbow into Zaremba's temple.
The ground and pound from Paparelli seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Paparelli in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Paparelli takes a little break here. Zaremba wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Zaremba taking punishment in the form of punches.
Zaremba really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Paparelli. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Paparelli wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Zaremba, who protects the arm well.
Paparelli works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Paparelli wants to lay and pray for a moment but Zaremba keeps working.
Zaremba tries to bench press Paparelli off him but Paparelli keeps the position.

Paparelli tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Paparelli looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Paparelli throws a strike aimed at the side of Zaremba's head but Zaremba avoids it well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Paparelli has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Zaremba should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Paparelli throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Zaremba can do anything to dispel that myth.
Paparelli controlling the pace for now.
Paparelli lands with some strikes.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Paparelli lands a big elbow.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Zaremba is in a horrible position here. Paparelli smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pvt. Dino Paparelli dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Paparelli shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Zaremba manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Paparelli postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Zaremba isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Paparelli stacks Zaremba on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Paparelli!
Zaremba takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Paparelli works to advance to full mount. Zaremba defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Zaremba is breathing heavily.
Paparelli connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee warns Zaremba that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.


Zaremba is rocked!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Paparelli postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Zaremba out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Paparelli goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Pvt. Dino Paparelli!
During a confident post fight interview, Pvt. Dino Paparelli thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
