The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Excellent takedown into side control there by Patrick.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Patrick is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Curik has escaped the position, nice work there.
Patrick thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Patrick looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Curik is avoiding damage well.
Patrick throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Curik works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Patrick wants to take a breather but Curik is having none of it.
Patrick is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Patrick has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Curik pushes Patrick off, looking to escape but Patrick dives into side control. He's locked up a kimura now - that was fast! He's cranking on it and Curik is forced to tap! The fight is over!
