Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Robin Banks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karel Gil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gil has chosen Papa Roach - Last Resort as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Robin Banks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Karel Gil!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Donatello Bradman and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Gil.
Gil with a poor takedown
and Banks counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Banks connects with a nice looking jab.
Sloppy strikes from Banks. Those never looked like landing.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gil is defended easily by Banks.
Robin Banks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Karel Gil.

Gil shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Banks is trying to defend but Gil finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Gil moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Banks has worked his arm free - good work by Banks!

Banks does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Gil shoots in looking for a takedown. Banks tries to sprawl out of it but Gil keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Banks manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Banks moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

and Gil takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Banks misses with a few strikes there.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Gil.
Banks uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Gil has time to react.
Banks fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Robin Banks showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Gil has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
