Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Victor Payne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Dillan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Dillan's choice of entrance music: Kick Ass. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Victor Payne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Max Dillan!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Russell Pearce and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Payne looks to land a left hand but Dillan moved out of range nicely.
Dillan scores with a jab to the head.


It looks like Victor Payne has been cut.
Payne throws a hook to the side of Dillan's head but Dillan sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Dillan blocks a head kick by Payne.
Dillan misses the jab.
Max Dillan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Dillan gets caught flat footed, as Payne shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Dillan pulls Payne in close to his closed guard and prevents Payne from doing any damage or advancing position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Payne is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Dillan doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Payne.
Payne takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Payne seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Dillan does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Payne seems to be looking for submissions.
Payne thows a huge punch but Dillan dodges it nicely.

Payne is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Dillan to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

Payne has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Victor Payne just wasn't active enough.
Payne closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Dillan steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Payne.
Dillan jabs Payne to the body, keeping him at a distance.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dillan scores with a jab to the head.

Payne decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Dillan keeps control of the position for the meantime.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Payne wants to free his trapped foot but Dillan is holding on for dear life with his legs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Victor Payne will probably get the nod.

Dillan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Payne as he avoids it easily.

Dillan throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Dillan is trying hard to land a takedown here. Payne sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Victor Payne has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Dillan.
Payne drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Dillan shoots for a double leg takedown but Payne sprawls well. He's pushed Dillan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Dillan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Payne.

Dillan moves in looking to clinch but Payne pushes him off.

Payne is looking to take a break and control but Dillan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Payne wants to take a breather but Dillan is having none of it.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Victor Payne.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Payne, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
