PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Duane Lee Chapman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lay Pray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pray has chosen Don't Fear the Reaper- Blue Oyster Cult as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Lay Pray is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Duane Lee Chapman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lay Pray!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Chapman misses.
Chapman throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Pray looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Chapman!

The ref stands the fighters back up. Lay Pray was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Pray fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Chapman avoids it really well and circles away.

Pray throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Chapman was covering up waiting for the punch and Pray finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Lay Pray was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Pray closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Chapman's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pray is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Pray trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Pray is stalling in the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Let's hope that Pray has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Chapman looks to land a combination but Pray avoids it well.
Pray shoots for a takedown but Chapman saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Pray clinches.

Pray is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Chapman can't fight it off and eventually Pray manages to take the fight to the floor. Chapman looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Chapman wants to get back to his feet but Pray is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Pray gets to his feet - Chapman follows without any prompting.
Pray fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Duane Lee Chapman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lay Pray.
Chapman misses with an uppercut.
Chapman misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Chapman is breathing heavily.
Pray shoots for a double leg takedown but Chapman sprawls well. He's pushed Pray's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Chapman cracks Pray with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Horrible takedown by Pray or perhaps it was just good defense by Chapman which made him look bad.
Pray dives in and grabs Chapman's left leg, looking for a takedown. Chapman pushes down on Pray's head and hops out.

Chapman bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Pray's head.

Duane Lee Chapman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pray is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Pray tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Pray ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Chapman moves away.
Pray closes this distance looking for a takedown but Chapman circles away.
Chapman cracks Pray with a good jab.
Chapman goes for a small jab and connects. Now Chapman goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Pray stumbles back but Chapman runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Pray to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Pray will ever be the same after a knockout like that.
