Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Thiago Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aston McNosworthy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aston McNosworthy told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua is trying hard to land a takedown here. McNosworthy sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Rua shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and McNosworthy counters with a single leg into guard. Rua didn't expect that.

McNosworthy decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Rua, up you get!

Rua is trying to work for a single leg takedown but McNosworthy pulls him back up using the underhooks.

McNosworthy drags the fight down to the ground.
McNosworthy has his hands on Rua's head, controlling the position.
Rua postures up in McNosworthy's guard and throws a big left but McNosworthy blocks it.
Rua tries to free his leg and advance position but McNosworthy is retaining full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rua accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

McNosworthy has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Rua doesn't defend quickly enough and McNosworthy has managed to lock this one up! Can Rua escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to McNosworthy on a fantastic submission victory.
