PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Todd Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Piugnu Kopo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Parker kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is THE COMMODORES-MACHINE GUN. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Fedor Mirinova and Sergei Dronov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kopo walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Kopo displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Parker.

Parker rushes Kopo and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
Parker lands a hook to the side of the head.
Kopo wants to stall.
Kopo lands an elbow just above Parker 's eye.

Kopo is pressed up against the ropes. Parker has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kopo down to the mat. Kopo avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Kopo shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Parker defends it nicely.
Parker connects with a body shot that sends Kopo's belly button to the back.

Parker drops back looking for a leg! Kopo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kopo manages to kick Parker off! Parker jumps back into Kopo's guard.
Kopo seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Parker drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Parker jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Kopo is looking for a sweep.

Parker is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kopo is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Parker is working to tighten is grip on Kopo's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Kopo has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Parker is really squeezing tight and eventually Kopo passes out! Parker breaks the hold and jumps onto the ropes to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Todd Parker was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
