PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sub Zero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Monty Reese (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sub Zero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Monty Reese!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shigeki Sano.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reese throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Zero counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Reese trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Zero passes into half guard.

Zero is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Reese is just riding it out for now. Zero eventually gives up the hold.
Zero has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Reese is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Zero takes Reese's back.

Zero is working for a rear naked choke. Reese is not defending it well and Zero has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Reese refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Reese's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Sub Zero!
