The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thompson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Boom, pushing him back against the cage.
Thompson is trying to pull guard but Boom has him pressed against the cage.
Boom wants a takedown but no success here.
Thompson is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Boom to keep the fight standing.
Boom looking for a takedown.
Boom throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Thompson blocks it with crossed arms.
Boom lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Thompson or not.
Thompson jumps guard but Boom turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Boom Boom has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Amir Thompson.

Boom escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Boom tries to close the distance and clinch but Thompson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Boom stuffs the takedown attempt from Thompson. Thompson gets slowly back to his feet.

Boom gets caught napping as Thompson dives in and scores a takedown. Boom manages to retain guard.
Boom utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Thompson prevents Boom from getting back to his feet.

Boom is looking to sinch up a triangle. Thompson throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Boom's body to avoid the submission. Boom has instead reached around Thompson's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Boom arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
