Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jon Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and GRrinder Lovelace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). GRrinder Lovelace will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jon Pierre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, GRrinder Lovelace!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lovelace gets caught napping as Pierre dives in and scores a takedown. Lovelace manages to retain guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Pierre stopping the sweep attempt from Lovelace.
Pierre trying to control but Lovelace is working from the bottom.
Pierre is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Lovelace is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Lovelace looking for a sweep. Not yet Lovelace, not yet.

Pierre thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pierre drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pierre jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Lovelace scores with a short punch from the bottom.

Pierre wants to control from the top but Lovelace keeps moving.
Lovelace seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Let's hope that Lovelace has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

GRrinder Lovelace has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Lovelace misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Pierre.

Pierre is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lovelace is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Pierre wants to control but Lovelace is keeping him busy.

Lovelace is trying to maintain the position but Pierre is very close to passing his half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Pierre in particular looking to stall.
Pierre is looking to advance position but Lovelace won't allow it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Pierre has gone for a leg lock! Lovelace slips out almost immediately though and dives into Pierre's guard.
Pierre might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Pierre is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lovelace knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Pierre swings around for an armbar but Lovelace sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Pierre's guard.
