He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Ray Mercer will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Monsoon, as that shot connected.
Monsoon looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Monsoon looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Monsoon throws a big right hand that misses.
Monsoon loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Monsoon content to stall in guard here.
Monsoon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Mercer looks gassed!
Monsoon makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Monsoon pushing down on Mercer's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mercer can do anything to dispel that myth.

Monsoon maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Mercer could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Monsoon has cracked it and Mercer is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Monsoon!
