The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hernandez rushes Santana and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Hernandez tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Santana avoids it.
Santana makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Santana blocks an elbow strike from Hernandez.
Hernandez looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Hernandez pulls guard successfully.
Santana sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Santana working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Santana trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Santana is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Santana tries to free his leg and advance position but Hernandez is retaining full guard.
Hernandez utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hernandez uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Santana.

Hector Hernandez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Santana scores with a head kick. Hernandez tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Santana gets tackled into the cage by Hernandez. Hernandez maintains the clinch.
Santana tries to throw a body punch but Hernandez avoids it by throwing Santana back against the cage.
Santana lands with a right to the head.
Santana lands a hook that snaps the head of Hernandez backwards.
Hernandez looking to stall.
Hernandez throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Santana blocks it with crossed arms.

The referee calls for Hernandez to work.

Santana blocks an elbow strike from Hernandez.
Hernandez has Santana pressed against the cage.
Santana goes for a takedown attempt but Hernandez pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Whack! Hernandez lands a heavy head kick that drops Santana. The ref tackles Hernandez to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Santana was done.
