Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rasmus Soderstrom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gunner State (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Soderstrom might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Metallica Don't Tread on Me . State has chosen Blaze Of Glory by Bon Jovi as his entrance music. Gunner State is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soderstrom with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling State to score with a decent uppercut.
State throws a shot from downtown. Soderstrom moves away and avoids it.
Soderstrom throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
State uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Soderstrom.

Soderstrom tries to clinch there but State circles away.
Soderstrom walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. State checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
State throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
State tries to land a front kick but Soderstrom steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
State bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
State lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Soderstrom at a distance.
Soderstrom takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

State scores with a jab. Soderstrom acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from State is defended easily by Soderstrom.
State shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Soderstrom but Soderstrom pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and State counters with a nice double leg into side control. Soderstrom won't be happy with that.

State decides to stand back up. State steps back and let's Soderstrom get back to his feet.
State throws a hook but Soderstrom blocks it.
Soderstrom moves into range and connects with a jab.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Soderstrom throws a combination. State tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Soderstrom wants to clinch up but State keeps it at a distance.

and State counters with a left to the body.

Soderstrom thows a body shot but no joy.
State darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Soderstrom throws a sloppy head kick and State moves out of range easily.
Soderstrom feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to State's calf.
Soderstrom connects with a high kick.
State defending well as Soderstrom loads up on a big left hand.

and State cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Soderstrom fakes a jab and throws a low kick but State checks it well.
State throws a body punch but Soderstrom moves out of range.
State misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Soderstrom.
State connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
No joy there for Soderstrom, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

State throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Soderstrom stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

State lands a glancing blow to the side of Soderstrom's head.

and Soderstrom counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Rasmus Soderstrom is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Good leg kick by Soderstrom there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
State is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Soderstrom had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

State throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Soderstrom stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Soderstrom needs to keep his hands up - State had a free shot at his head there.

State paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
State throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Soderstrom closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Soderstrom lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Soderstrom takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Soderstrom takes a body punch but keeps moving.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

State looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

State is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gunner State dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

State connects with a nice looking jab.
Soderstrom misses with a head kick.
State lands with an uppercut that bounces Soderstrom off the cage and back into range.
Soderstrom pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
State lands a really nice looking cross but Soderstrom seems unphased.
State cracks Soderstrom with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Soderstrom connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between State's hands.
State misses the shot to the body.

A nice inside leg kick there by Soderstrom. That's going to slow State down.

State closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Soderstrom quickly recovers to half guard.
Soderstrom is trying is best to control the position here.
Soderstrom has hold of State's hands but State slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

State in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Soderstrom tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from State!
