Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brad Barnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean claude Sherk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barnes comes into the arena with Red Right Hand - Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds blaring out of the sound system. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sherk fails with a takedown attempt.
The crowd cheers as Barnes lands an impressive looking overhand right. Sherk doesn't seem phased though.
Barnes avoids the head kick by Sherk.

Brad Barnes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sherk takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

It looks like Jean claude Sherk has been cut.

Sherk shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sherk showed some decent athleticism there.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Barnes has one foot on Sherk's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Barnes lands with a nice combination. Sherk backs away looking to recover.

Barnes decides to stand back up. Barnes steps back and let's Sherk get back to his feet.

Sherk drops his hands momentarily and Barnes takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Horrible takedown by Sherk or perhaps it was just good defense by Barnes which made him look bad.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Sherk darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Sherk is looking for a kimura but Barnes is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sherk to get the leverage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sherk had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Barnes is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Sherk Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Barnes's back instead.
Sherk is trying to control but Barnes is trying to escape here - he's now mounted.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
