Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mixalis Pavlis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franz Greger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Franz Greger will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Franz Greger!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Anni Minnemäki and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pavlis fails with the takedown.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Pavlis in particular looking to stall.

Pavlis gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Pavlis drives through with a takedown into Greger's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Greger can do anything to dispel that myth.

Greger shoots for a takedown but Pavlis saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Greger tries to clinch up but Pavlis circles away and keeps his distance.
Pavlis dives in and grabs Greger's left leg, looking for a takedown. Greger pushes down on Pavlis's head and hops out.

Pavlis uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Greger pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Pavlis slaps away a takedown attempt from Greger, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Pavlis shoots in for a double leg but Greger sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Greger throws a sloppy head kick and Pavlis moves out of range easily.

Pavlis darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Pavlis uses his free foot to push down on Greger's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Greger.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

The referee asks Pavlis politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Pavlis prefers to stall for the moment though.
You can see the frustration on Greger's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Pavlis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Greger keeps working.

Pavlis decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fight stays on the outside here - Greger looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Pavlis shoots in but no luck this time.
Pavlis slaps away a takedown attempt from Greger, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Pavlis takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Greger has his foot on Pavlis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pavlis works his way back into a safe position though.

That's time! Pavlis's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!

Greger must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Pavlis shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Pavlis was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pavlis, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
