Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tom Duncan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jakz Skedol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duncan's entrance music is Haka . A fine choice. Jakz Skedol has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tom Duncan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jakz Skedol!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Duncan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Skedol is trying to escape the position but Duncan is controlling the position.
Skedol is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Duncan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Skedol keeps working.

It looks like Jakz Skedol has been cut.
Duncan tries to advance to mount but can't.
Skedol is looking to regain half guard here but Duncan keeps moving and retains side control.
Skedol avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Duncan.

and Duncan makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Duncan throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Skedol was covering up waiting for the punch and Duncan finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Duncan is keen to just control but Skedol is a slippery customer.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

We're going to have a standup here because Tom Duncan wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Skedol lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Duncan circles away quickly and effectively.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Duncan shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Skedol sprawls well. Skedol wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Duncan gets slowly back to his feet.

Duncan decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Duncan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Duncan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Duncan seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Skedol for as long as he can get away with.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tom Duncan.
Well Duncan has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
