The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arona fails with a takedown attempt.
Belfort catches Arona with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Belfort swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Arona drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Belfort lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Good exchange - Belfort coming out on top.
Belfort shoots for a double leg takedown but Arona sprawls well. He's pushed Belfort's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Vitor Belfort seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Arona looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Belfort is fending him off so far but Arona persists. Nope, Belfort circles away and we're back to standing.
Belfort misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Arona defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Belfort.

Belfort is just content to waste time from the top position. Arona takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
