Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vazquez closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Silva did well to prevent Vazquez getting side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Vazquez seems to be looking for submissions.
Vazquez is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Vazquez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Silva keeps working.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Silva.
Silva shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Vazquez eats them both and turns towards Silva to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Silva misses with a series of wild punches.

Anderson Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Silva throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
It looks like Hector Vazquez has been cut.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Vazquez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silva's waist but Silva gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vazquez off to one side.

Vazquez is trying to force a seperation but Silva has the dominant position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Vazquez wants the takedown. Silva is fighting it off but Vazquez persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Silva's guard against the ropes.

Vazquez wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Silva lands a jab to Vazquez's midsection.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Vazquez is rocked!
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Silva has cracked Vazquez with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Silva lands another huge swinging hook and Vazquez tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Vazquez, before Silva can land any more shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:16 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Anderson Silva!
