Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paul Aken and Saam Ante.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blade changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fernandes tries to avoid it but Blade manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fernandes to the ground. Fernandes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Fernandes is looking to clinch.
Fernandes misses with the combination.

and Blade counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Blade is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Blade has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Kolton Blade.

Fernandes tries to break free but Blade pushes him back against the cage.

Blade jumps guard and drags Fernandes to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Fernandes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Blade swivels though and keeps the full guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Rafael Fernandes hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fernandes is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Blade off and has taken his back!

Blade is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Blade circles away from the clinch attempt.

Fernandes gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Fernandes escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Blade gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Blade is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Fernandes wants to sweep here but Blade controlling him for the moment.
Blade controls from within his opponent's guard.

Fernandes has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Blade can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Kolton Blade overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Blade stays in close to Fernandes's body and controls the position.

Blade is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fernandes has his foot on Blade's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Blade works his way back into a safe position though.

Blade is sitting in close to Fernandes's body. Fernandes has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Blade is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Blade is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Fernandes.
