PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Royce Gracis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabio Gurgel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Royce Gracis had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 187.4lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Fabio Gurgel told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracis manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Gurgel on his heels. He'll look to pass Gurgel's guard now, I'm sure.

Gurgel is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Gracis frees his head nicely. Oh but Gurgel has switched to an armbar! Gracis is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
